The Dragon Heart

The subconscious mind often communicates to the conscious mind through symbols. This can happen through dreams or through synchronistic events we notice throughout our day.  We may even notice symbols that get our attention through the scenery of our lives, such as a child’s drawing.

Iphelia’s dragon heart represents the evolution of human character through the effort to consciously transmute one’s old lizard brain responses. Instead of reacting from fear or old defense mechanisms and secondary anger, we observe ourselves, we feel where we really are, and we face our fear. We practice staying conscious and present and our inner workings slow down. The old brain response of fight or flight is not so quick to consume us and new choices are made. We finish what is unfinished and aspire to reach an ever better feeling place. What once held us down, crawling low to the ground, has grown wings and evolved and now empowers the heart to fly.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.”  -Helen Keller
